Mary McCarthy Authors New Book on Hosting a Halloween Party

If you will be planning or attending a Halloween party this year, a new book has arrived that wlll help you with decorating, food, drinks, costumes and beyond!

Suite 101 writer Mary McCarthy is the Queen of Halloween here at Suite101.com. She has written nearly three dozen Halloween articles for Suite 101 and has compiled these articles for her new book, which uses her own experience planning adult Halloween parties for adults at her 1881 Victorian Mansion in Maryland.

The book is a 68-page how-to Halloween party planning guide, offering frighteningly cool ideas for interior and exterior Halloween decor, party food and drinks, activities and atmosphere. The book also features costume contest planning, including more than 100 Halloween costume ideas for individuals, groups, couples and more.

McCarthy details some of the recipes, drinks and decorations she has served up to her costumed guests over a decade of fantastic Halloween parties for ‘groan-ups.’ Other ideas in the book include Halloween party music, movies to play, and other activities for your adult Halloween party.

About the Author

Mary McCarthy has been a professional freelance writer for more than 15 years. Her article credits include features for the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, Philadelphia Inquirer, Victorian Homes magazine.
