Wow your party guests this festive season with anything-but-ordinary Christmas party decorations.
'Tis the season to be jolly and Christmas parties are fast approaching. If you're looking for ideas for a party that is uniquely themed, look no further. Here are five to get you in the holiday spirit. All of these ideas could work as social or work parties and, if you want to get really festive, provide some great ideas for fancy dress. Walking in a Winter Wonderland Whip out the spray on snow, start cutting snowflakes and build those polysterene snowmen. Holding a winter wonderland themed party is sure to get your guests in the mood for hot chocolate and some festive frivolity. Props to scatter around your party venue may include snow-globes, ice-skates, mittens, stockings and fake snow. If you're really keen, you could hold the party at an ice bar or skating rink or order a few ice sculptures to place around the room. Fill glass bowls and vases with white foods such as marshmellows, popcorn, mints and white chocolate to keep things cool. Party in Santa's WorkshopTake a trip back to your childhood with a fun themed party in Santa's workshop. Scatter toys and fake tools around the party to make the venue look like a workshop, wrap empty cardboard boxes up as beautiful presents and hang brightly coloured decorations from the ceiling. Serve childhood favourites such as cupcakes, gingerbread and lollies in Christmas colours or savoury foods in noodleboxes that have been wrapped to look like gifts. Old benches and work horses can act as tables and chairs and when your done with all the decorations. donate them to a children's charity. If you are holding a fancy dress christmas party ask your guests to come as either an elf or a child's toy to complement the theme. 12 Days of ChristmasBring this classic Cristmas carol to life by holding a party that pays homage to the 12 days of Christmas. Find clever ways to incorporate everything from a partridge in a pear tree to twelve drummers drumming. This may include displaying topiary trees with candy pears, serving three (roast) french hens, hanging five golden wreaths to represent the rings and dressing up your tables to look like giant drums. Alternatively, ask each of your guests to come as something from the carol. Have an Aussie ChristmasBreak away from the white Christmas and celebrate the season the way they do downunder - on a scorching summer's day. Use an inflatable children's pool filled with ice to hold your drinks, seat your guests on folding chairs and eskies and decorate a gum tree rather than the traditional evergreen. Put on a barbecue, meatpies or some freshly grilled fish, crack a few beers and break out the ausse slang, mate. Decorations could include Australian flora and fauna, shells and white sand and thongs (a type of footwear). Nativity Scene Party ThemeFor something more traditioanl invite your guests to step into the nativity scene. Be sure to include baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the three wise man, the inn keeper and the animals. If children will be at your party, you may like to hire a hobby farm and have real lambs and calves present. Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones and to celebrate the presence of those your care about. Make sure this year's Christmas party is something to remember by holding a party no-one will ever want to forget.
