Unique Halloween costumes that you can make inexpensively for both men and women.

Halloween is fast approaching and you are still uncertain of what you want to dress up as. There are many easy and very inexpensive costume ideas that you can make at home. Listed below are several unique costume ideas that you can create with items that you may have lying are around your house.

Mrs. Potato Head

Attach brown felt to a shirt and shorts to make yourself into a potato. Wear white leggings, a turtleneck and leggings underneath and a pair of red clown shoes. Make body parts out of felt (nose, ears, eyes, lips, etc.) and attach Velcro to the back of each piece.

Bag Lady

Tape a bunch of plastic and paper bags together to make a top and bottom.

Born to Be Wild

Dress like a baby with a diaper, bib, rattle, pacifier and bonnet. Add a bandana, boots and vest.

Paper Girl

Use newspaper to make an entire outfit including shirt and pants. Use tape, glue or staples to hold the newspaper together.

Burned Out

Burn holes in a white work shirt. Put dark circles under eyes using makeup. Tease your hair so that it looks frazzled, like you just woke up.

Cookie Monster

Dress yourself like any type of monster and attach cookies to your costume with glue or tape.

French Kiss

Make yourself into a large Hershey’s kiss using aluminum foil and padding and wear a French beret.

Drama Queen

Wear a drama mask (simple black tragedy or comedy) and a queen’s crown.

Bottle of Champagne

Wear a long gold-toned dress (gold-toned loose fit pants and shirt may also work). Pile your hair on the top, paint body glitter on your body and pile your hair on the top of your head. Finish the costume by carrying a bottle of bubbles and blowing them.

Chick Magnet

Dress yourself all in black. Glue yellow Easter peeps over your body.

Picnic

Wear a plastic red and white checkered tablecloth (cut a hole in the middle for your head). Glue plates, plastic utensils and picnic type food to the plates and tablecloth. Fill picnic basket with candy or Halloween treats and carry around.

Tampon

Wear red sweatpants and a red turtleneck or sweatshirt. Attach several pieces of white braided yarn to a white sock cap and place on your head.

Chocolate Mousse

Purchase and wear a pair of moose antlers. Stencil an image of Hershey’s bar onto your clothes.

With just a few household items, you can be the center of attention at any Halloween party. Go out and show off your creative Halloween costume that you made yourself!
