Halloween is just around the corner and people are starting to plan their parties. While many people will just have a costume party, mix it up a little and have a themed party. Guests all dress around a particular theme and it becomes interesting to see people’s take on the theme.
This party could be a particular decade; 50’s, 60’s, etc. Play music in the background that was popular during that era and decorate accordingly. Or this theme could be decades in general. Let guests pick which decade and style they want. There will then be a mix of doo-wop styles, hippy chicks, rad 80s kids, valley girls, and flappers.
This category is pretty self-explanatory but the possibilities are endless. People could go as celebrities in their heyday or they can dress as a celebrity post death. Guests can come as a favorite celebrity that has passed or even dead celebrities of a certain era or entertainment genre like just music stars.
Ideas: Anna Nicole Smith, Natalie Wood, Steve Irwin, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy, John Denver, Amelia Earhart.
This is the same as above except just celebrities in general. The party could have a sub-theme like celebrities from the 1960’s, reality television celebrities, or music celebrities.
Guests could come as Sonny and Cher, Bonnie and Clyde, a football player and a cheerleader, Marc Antony and Cleopatra, or Danny and Sandy from Grease.
The guests that are single and don’t have dates can still be in a couple with a friend of the same or opposite sex. These costumes include Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, “The Coreys”, Thelma and Louise, Rocky Balboa and any one of his opponents, or Itchy and Scratchy.
Guests can come as famous superheroes or villains, either from comics, movies, television, or well-known books. Heroes can be obvious ones like Superman, Spider-Man and Batman or can be a little less in the superhero genre. Costumes like Rocky Balboa and Indiana Jones would work as well. Zorro, Maximus from Gladiator, Han Solo, or James Bond can also be looked at as heroes.
Villains can include The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz, or The Joker from Batman.
The experts at lifetips.com recommend each superhero or villain “do a routine for extra laughs.”
Guests should pick their favorite movie or television show and come as a character. Some examples are Star Wars, Napoleon Dynamite, Sex and the City, and Friends. Particular well known characters from a movie would work as well like Michael from the Halloween series, Ace Ventura, Jack Sparrow, or Dr. Evil.
