Homemade unique Halloween costumes for both men and women.

Halloween is just around the corner and you are still searching for the perfect costume idea. There are many unique costumes that you can make yourself with items you can find around your home.

California Raisin

Purchase or find a large black drawstring trash bug and cut a hole in the bottom of the bag for your head and two more holes on each side for your arms. Pull the drawstring out enough for each of your legs to go through. Wear a black turtleneck underneath and pair of black leggings or pants. Blow up balloons to fill the trash bag. Pull the drawstring to secure the balloons in place. You may need to use some tape to ensure the balloons don’t fall out. Wear a pair of white tennis shoes and a pair of sunglasses to finish the costume.

Bonfire

Wear a brown or dark grey long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt and wrap a brown towel around your waist. Attach branches and twigs to the towel and place a few marshmallows on the ends of the branches. Make flames by using red, yellow and red tissue paper surrounding your head. Use face paint to color your cheeks red.

Wind-Up Doll

Dress yourself like a doll by wearing a frilly dress, rosy cheeks, pigtails, drawn-on lower eye lashes and gloves. Make the key by cutting a piece of cardboard into the shape of an end of a key. Cover the key in duct tape and paint it silver. Use tape to attach the key to your back so that it sticks out of your dress.

Floor of a Movie Theater

Dress yourself in all black (black sweatpants or leggings and black turtleneck, long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt). Tease your hair and attach candy wrappers, popcorn and chewed gum to shirt and pants. If you have access to popcorn containers, try attaching them to give your costume an even more authentic look.

Bag of Jellybeans

Use two or three clear dry cleaning bags and place one bag inside the other. Punch a large hole on each side of the bag next to the opening for the hanger for your legs to go through. Blow up 20-25 colorful balloons. Flip the bag upside down and step into the leg holes. Pull the bag up and so that it covers your body and stuff it with the balloons. Using a colorful ribbon, loosely tie the bag off at your neck.

Halloween is a time of year to be someone else for a day or evening. Impress your friends and family with these creative costume ideas. There are plenty of easy costume ideas that are bound to draw you attention.
