  • Halloween candy
  • Halloween sugar cookies

Halloween Rice Krispies Treats Recipe

Candy corn and chocolate Rice Krispies treats are inexpensive, fun, and easy additions for Halloween boo baskets. To make a 9x13" pan of these candies, you'll need:

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 9 cups mini marshmallowes
  • 10 cups chocolate Rice Krispies
  • 2 cups candy corn
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • assorted candy pumpkins

Mix the cereal, candy corn, and chocolate chips in a large bowl. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the marshmallows until melted and smooth. Pour the marshmallow mixture over the cereal, stirring with a buttered wooden spoon to coat. Using buttered hands, spread the mixture on a large greased 9x13" pan or baking sheet, pressing flat. Press candy pumpkins (or extra candy corn, if preferred) spaced about 1 1/2" apart. Cool and cut into squares.

Boo Basket Assembly Ideas

Although they are called boo "baskets," the assorted Halloween treats can really be delivered in any container. A nice basket, a fall tin, or even a Halloween paper plate covered in plastic wrap works for packaging book basket treats.

Delivering a Boo Basket

Many people prefer to set the boo basket on the doorstep of the recipient, knock on the door, and run away as fast as they can. Kids will probably get a kick out of this sneaky operation, but without playing a nasty trick. If you don't want to stick around to deliver the boo basket in person, make sure to leave a note or card saying who the basket is from, so that the recipients know the treats are safe to eat and keep.

Sending out Halloween boo baskets to neighbors, family, and friends is a fun and fast way to spread cheer during the fall months.Fill with seasonal favorites and have fun!
