The ninth day of Christmas, according to the song, has someone sending a gift of nine drummers drumming. Why not host a meal or party based on drums and drummer boys?

According to the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, the gift associated with the ninth day of Christmas was nine drummers drumming. Why not host a drumming themed dinner party based on famous drummers from the world of pop and rock such as Ringo Starr from the Beatles or Cozy Powell of Black Sabbath fame? Or invite guests to arrive dressed up as drummer boys from the US civil war era.

Host a Drum or Drummer Boy Themed Party

Invite guests to arrive dressed up as drummer boys from the army and practise beating a military tattoo on anything – whether it’s a hired in drum kit or simple pots and pans. Serve food based on standard army ration packs such as chicken curry or sausage and beans. Or check out the local army surplus store and see if there are any self heating emergency food packs in stock.

Alternatively, invite guests to arrive dressed up as drummers from pop groups and rock banks. Hire in an electronic drum kit for guests to try out and offer a prize for the one who plays the best. Serve barbecued chicken drumsticks with salad and rice or a Chinese dish such as this recipe for stir fried beef and bean sprouts and offer guests chopstick with which to eat it.
